I (personally) need to remember to release the head to find the hips. My arms have NOTHING to do with it - why are they "helping" me stand?

- Letting something go doesnt give it the idea of where it's connected.
- Shoulder jam . - instead find head, back, legs then stomach, where does it go?
"I'm not bossy, I'm supportive!"
TRIANGLES

Triangles can also do halves - right/left
Horses/dogs should look like a table - legs squarely underneath them.
You can transfer weight - if someone has interference the tail may tuck, legs/knees may kick - where is the interference?
Things felt different this day as I was on no medication and no supplements prior to surgery:
Luc reminds that feeling is important to remember "up." The important thing is to remember "up" even when we feel good
- Check organization of head -> Tail
- Ball look up/down
- send ball forward and back
- hand on top of head - bounce to connect head to pelvis
- roll back/forward entire spine
Intention = organization
- the little things become a distraction and ruin the thing
- up and something else cant happen at the same time
- up is it. be up, do up, up, up , up
There are so many ways but we have to observe and inhibit - be like Sherock Holmes, sit, gather info, process, inhibit then and maybe only then - do
Choose your own adventure or Pick your battles - every person, every day is different.
We have habit and what we want to do and what we intend to do
Jaw ---> hips (seriously...they're connected)
- Primary and secondary can go either way
- seriously, you can go either way to get out of the chair.
- Where is the energy? Is it too much?
- Our jaw = fish gills. How easy is it to pull a fish out of the water by the gills? So we too can come out of the chair using the jaw.
Spirals on the table.
I squatted today - for the first time, actually went down and up with no catching and no grabbing and no panic. My body did it!!!
The idea that we are so disconnected from the pelvis:
- Think about tv what do cameras focus on?
- Face and waist up
- So emotions are expressed more thru the upper body, disengaging the pelvis - that should be where we are truly attached!
Summer intensive was...well...intense. I learned a lot and became more comfortable with myself. It will be interesting to see how this affects what happens in the fall and how I integrate it all. I know what I did helped after surgery. I really did inhibit as I went to get in and out of bed - especially those first few times out of the OR. It made a difference. I think the nurses were worried I was dizzy or sick but I had to explain to them that I was organizing and thinking, I wasn't just going to try and pop up, I had to figure out how best to do it.
It was a good summer of learning for sure!
