Mm1-88Wednesday was a good class day, despite my still being tired and miserable.  I took the day off to do a bird show - which was really great! I love those dumb birds.

We spent time in semi supine,  which was great for Me! As we were there we talked about it being an active engagement not just a relaxation thing. It's an active engagement to direct energy differently. So true. With feet on the floor accepting energy from earth....yes. just yes.

Thursday we worked a long time individually and I had my instrument with me and asked if we could work with the instrument. Wow, it was great!

I have a tendency to engage everything from the waist up to be 'up.' Probably from all of the up talk from John.

In anycase, C asked me to engage my lower body to allow it to gather the support it needs from the energy the earth offers. My sound...BAM! I had just put new strings on and the sound initially had an edge to it as soon as C had me engage my legs and recognize their support the edge disappeared and the change in the  depth of the sound was exponential!

J and Ch both made audible sounds when they heard it change.

CH talked about the use of mother (earth) as support and energy giver and the importance of going to father (up) to make a point or for expression but we must return to mother.

I liked that idea. C also said I need to, for a time, disengage the feels and emotion and pay close attention to my grounding.

Then we talked about different tunings 440 vs 432 and how 432 is really a preferred resonance for our body and listening.  I hadn't ever heard of it, but sure...i enjoy the 415 tuning a lot.  It's just darker and richer to me.

It's going to be a fun experiment to do with my orchestra  :)  hee hee... tune them down and see how we all react.

At the end of the night we talked some about body systems, but I was beat and didn't pay a lot of attention....bad Jenna.....
